PYEONGYEONG: Korean musical instrument

A pyeongyeong is a traditional percussion musical instrument of Korea, the musical instrument is a type of stone chime or lithophone molded of 16 L-shaped stone lumps that is suspended from a frame. Even though all the stones possess the same shape they differ in pitch according to thickness of the musical instrument; the thinner stones are lower in pitch and the thicker stones manufacture higher pitches.
The musical instrument is derived from a Chinese musical instrument called the bianqing.
