SOGEUM: Korean musical instrument

The sogeum is a small bamboo transverse flute that is used in traditional music of Korea. Unlike the larger version of the musical instrument called daegeum, the musical instrument does not possess a buzzing membrane. The musical instrument is used in court music, aristocratic music, as well as folk music, and also in modern day classical music, the popular music, and also the film scores.
Other larger flutes that are in the same family of musical instrument include the medium-sized version of the musical instrument called  junggeum and the larger version of the musical instrument called daegeum; the three musical instrument together are called samjuk, as the three most important flutes of the Silla period.
