MANJUR: Kuwait musical instrument

The manjur is a musical instrument that is used in the Arab states of the Persian Gulf. The musical instrument has its origins from the Eastern part of Africa.  The musical instrument is manufactured of goat hooves fixed to a cloth. The musical instrument is played by tying the musical instrument around the waist. The player of the musical instrument shakes his or her waist to manufacture a rattle sound when the goat hooves hit with each other.
The musical instrument is used in the fann at-Tanbura as well as zar performances.
