An ugal is a musical instrument in an Indonesian gamelan orchestra. The instrument is a bronze metallophone that is played one handed with the use of a small hammer, usually in a dance-like way. There are often ten keys, giving a maximum range spanning about two octaves. Like the gangsa and gender, they are suspended over tuned bamboo resonators.

The ugal features mostly in gamelan gong kebya, where it carries the central music of the piece. Sometimes, the instrument may give jublag it melodic function, where it then takes over as the leader of a ketekan.
