Biography
Dhimitër Xhuvani was born in Pogradec, Albania. His father, Kostaq
Xhuvani was a prominent teacher from Elbasan. In the year 1944, at the time of
the World War II, his family left the country and took refuge in Moker, and it
was there that they resided until the country was liberated and after that,
they went back to their country. After he had completed his studies at the
medical high school, he worked in the rural hospital of Librazhd, Peqin,
Gramish and Cerrik. He continued his studies in the Faculty of History and
Philology in Tirana and later in Moscow, after he had left the study of
medicine.
Dhimitër Xhuvani is the winner of several literary awards and his works
has been translated in several languages including the ones in Italian,
English, French, Russian, Japanese and Chinese languages.
He died in Tirana at the age of 75 because of Natural causes.
