Ardian Klosi was born
on the 9th July 1957; he died on the 26th April 2012. He
was a pubiscist, albanologist, a writer and a translator from Albania. He is
also a social activist. He studied Albanian Literature in the University of
Tirana and graduated in the year 1981 and got his Ph.D in Germany and comparative
literature at the University of Innsbruck.

Early Life and Family
Ardian Klosi was born
in Tirana in the year 1957 to Klosi family; his family is originally from
Mallakaster. His father was known with the name, Bilbil Klosi, he was the
former minister of Justice from the year 1953 to the year 1966 and he was the
secretary of the presidium of the national assembly of the country from the
year 1966 to the year 1973. In the year 1981, Ardian got his degree in Albanian
literature from the University of Tirana.
Life in Germany
He earned his
doctorate degree in the year 1990. Klosi resided in Germany for the first 5
years of the post-communist era in his country, and it was there that he met
and got married to the photographer called Jutta Benzenberg and they both had 2
daughters together.
Return to Albania.
Klosi went back to
his country in the year 1998 and strongly engaged himself in the civil society
events f the country as well as journalism in the country. After he had gone
back to his country from Germany, he was made the general director o0f the
radio Televizioni Shqiptar, the public broadcaster of the country, from the
year 1998 to the year 1999. In the recent years, he was active in the defense
of the environmental issues. He assisted the civil society causes and the
cultural heritage of the country. Klosi was mainly active against the
initiative of the government of the country for destroying the pyramid.

Klosi passed through
Spartan
Death and
Reactionbouts of depression and had tried to commit suicide twice, before he
finaly killed himself by hanging in his own house. He committed suicide on the
26th April 2012 after he had received treatment against the
depression he suffered.
The death was seen as
an irreplaceable loss for the family of Klosi and for the entire country by the
[president of the country, Bamir Topi. Many more condolence messages were sent
to the family by top members of the society, like the Albanian prime minister,
Sali Berisha. He was buried at the public Sharra cemetery that is in Tirana
conurbation.
