Shyqyri Rreli was born in the year 1930. He is a former footballer of Albania. He spent most of his career with Dinamo Tirana. He played for KF Erzeni and Puna Tirana that is the current KF Tirana. He was the coach of the Albanian national team between the year 1988 and 1999. He has also coached Albania U21, KF Tirana, Teuta Durrës and Shkumbini Peqin. He is the father in law of another popular footballer of the country, Mirel Josa
Career
He was a successful player for the following teams in the 1960s, KF Erzeni, Puna Tirana and Dinamo Tirana. He was the national Under-21 coach of the country and led them to two straight titles of the Balkan youth championshio in the year 1978 and in the year 1981. He also led to the quarter finals of the Euro 1984, where the country was among the 8 best European teams.
In his career, he most played for Dinamo Tirana. He got two straight Albanian titles for KF Tirana as the coach of the club in the 1987/88 and 1988/89 season. He led the club to the best 16 in 3 European competitions, which are 1986/87 European Cup Winners' Cup, 1988/89 European Cup, and 1989/90 European Cup. As the coach of the national team of the country, he will be remembered for getting close in the Mexico 1986 competition, most notably, with a win against Belgium, a draw against Poland and a draw against Greece.
The president of the country Bamir Topi, in the year 2007, awarded him Mjeshter i Madh civil medal.
