The talharpa is a four-stringed bowed lyre that is found in the northern part of Europe. The musical instrument was originally widespread in the Scandinavia, but today, the instrument is performed primarily in Estonia, especially among that nation’s Swedish community. The musical instrument is analogous to the Finnish jouhikko and the crwth of the Welsh, but it does not have a finger board. The musical instrument is also known as tagelharpa, or more commonly as a strakharpa.
