Evaristo Eduardo de Miranda

Evaristo Eduardo de Miranda was born in the year 1952 in the city of Sao Paulo; he is a Brazilian writer and a researcher at Embrapa. Evaristo Eduardo de Miranda is an expert in the field of agriculture, ecology, land management and environment.

Evaristo Eduardo de Miranda completed in Agronomy in France in the year 1976 and had his MS and Ph.D in ecology at the Montpellier University. He joined Embrapa Semiarid, in Petrolina the state of Pernambuco as a researcher in the year 1980. He moved to the city of Sao Paulo in the year 1986 and it was there that he started and directed three National Research Centres at Embrapa, with the NMA being among them. Currently, Evaristo Eduardo de Miranda is the coordinator of the GITE Embrapa.

de Miranda started was a professor at the Pernambuco Federal Rural University Botany Institute and also at the São Paulo University Biosciences Institute. He is a member of the Several Scientific Societies in the country. de Miranda served as a consultant on the United Nations World Conference on the Environment, Rio 92. He wrote more than a hundred scientific articles and they were all published either in the country or outside the country. He also wrote over 30 books.

de Miranda started his profession as a humanity issues writer with the books called Water, Breath and Light, which he wrote in the year 1995, Now and at the Hour that was written in the year 1996,  that he wrote in the year 2000 and also Wise Pharisees, which was written in the year 2001.

For the total of 6 years, de Miranda has taken part in the weekly program called Caminhos da Roça at EPTV. Frequently, de Miranda publishes articles in the magazines and newspapers of the country like National Geographic, ECO 21, AgroDBO Agroanalysis e O Estado de São Paulo.
