Boutaiba Sghir

Biography

In the year 1963, the dropped the first single music that was when he was 18, the music was called Chetek el Berah. In the year 1963, he gave his debut concert called "Scène d’été" in Chaabet El Ham and Aïn Témouchent. The first success came in the year 1968 with the single called El Caoucaou. He was then playing the violin in the orchestra of the Oran radio from the year 1967 to the year 1969. In the year 1969, Raba Raba and El Fermliya are released and still they are appreciated by bthe public of the country to this day.

Today, he is seen as the king of rai music in the country and he is also considered to be the inventor of the contemporary rai music with Messaoud Bellemou. He inspired several musicians like Cheb Mami and Cheb Hasni. He was given an invitation to Paris in the year 2010 by Cheb Khaled with Maurice El Madioni, Cheb Sahraoui and Chaba Zahouania for a concert in the tribute to Oran called Oran café.
