Amazigh Kateb was born on the 16th September 1972 in Staoueli. He is a musician and a singer from Algeria. In the year 1998, he relocated to France and there he was the main figure of the group in Grenoble Gnawa Diffusion formed in the year 1992. He is the son of the prominent writer Kateb Yacine, the founder of the contemporary literature of the country.

Kateb announced the release of his first music album for the 17th October 2009, a significant date becaue of the Paris Massacre of the year 1961. From the year 2005 to the year 2010, he took part in the musical documentary Tagnawittude made by Benhamou Rahma El Madani.
