in the year 1864; he died in the year 1951. He was a priest, a writer and a
historian from Albania. He was the first man from the country to write a novel
in the local langaue of the country, Albania. He was born in Shkoder.

Biography
Nikaj was educated in
Albanian Pontifical Seminary and he was ordained a priest in the year 1888.
Together with Preng Doci, he created the Lidhja
e Mshehët that aimed at overthrowing the Ottoman Empire in the country and
creating of independence in the country, Albania.such league was the source opf
the inspiration of the Albanian Revolt of the year 1910.
In the year 1909,
Nikaj established his own print press and named it Shtypshkronja Nikaj. He was
also the founder of the two newspapers; the Koha in the year 1910 and the Besa
Shqyptare in the year 1913. Besa Shqyptare lasted until the year 1921. In the
year 1921, he was arrested for an undisclosed reasons and nobody heard much
from him until the end of the World War II. He was arrested by the communist
regime in the year 1946 and he died in prison in the year 1951.
