Mark Krasniqi was born on the 19th October 1920 in Kokaj, near
Peja, which is in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. He is a publicist,
ethnographer, a translator and a writer from Albania. He completed his primary
school education in Peja in Serbian language and because of the catholic
background that he has, he went to catholic high school that is in Prizren, one
of the few Albanians between Croatians and Slovenes and he completed in the
year 1941. After he had completed his high school education, he went on to
study Literature in the University of Padova in Italy and after the 2nd
World War; he studied Geography and Ethnography in the University of Belgrade.
Mark published in Rilindja newspaper since the year 1945 in Prizren. He was
accused of overpassing the nationalistic boundaries after he had written an
article on Marije Shllaku and that got the scholarship he gained cancelled, not
minding that he graduated in the year 1950.

After he graduated until the end of the year 1961, he worked in the
science Academy that is in Belgrade, in the Institute of Ethnography, and he
was one of the few people from Albania to become members of the Yugoslavian
Academy of science. From the year 1961, he is a professor in the University of
Pristina, he was also a member of the Science Academy of Kosovo. He got his
Ph.D in the University of Ljubljana in the year 1960. He has published several
studies and science book on geography and ethnography and also some textbooks.
, he was most famous as a writer, more with the poetry for children.
Krasniqi was a mameber of the Assembly of Kosovo at the time of the
Legislatures of the years 2001-2004, 2004-2007, and
2007-2010, and he represented the Albanian Demochristian Party of Kosovo. He
has also worked as the President of te Science and Arts of Kosovo, he was also
the Dean of Faculty of Law and Economics, he was the president of the Albanian
Christian-Democratic Part and he was the first head of the Association of
Writer of Kosovo. Apart from Kosovo and Albanian languages, he is also good in
the Italian language.
