Career
Mustafaj is a former
ambassador of Albania to France. He became the 62 foreign minister of the
country on the 11th September 2005, when the government of the Prime
Minister, Sali Berisha took over the office of leadership in the country. He
resigned on the 24th April 2007 and he was substituted by Lulzim
Basha on the 25th April of that same year. He resigned after a huge
disagreement by Sali Berisha, but further disagreement with the Prime Minister
of the country led to the withdrawal of Besnik from the politics of the country
in May 2009.
He is the current
chairman of the Albanian Institute for International Studies that is based in
the country, Albania.
