From
the English refrain pop words yeah-yeah, ye-ye was a French-originated word
which Spanish language appropriated to mean as up-tempo, spirit lifting pop
music. It is primarily made up of combinations of American rock from the early
60s (such as twist) and British beat music. Concha Velasco, a talented singer
and movie celebrity, launched the scene with her 1965 hit known as La Chica
Ye-Ye, however there had been hits earlier by female singers like Karina in the
year 1963. The earliest artists were a fake of French pop, at the period itself
an imitation of American and British pop and rock. Flamenco rhythms, though, in
time to time made the beat uniquely Spanish. From this initial generation of
Spanish pop singers known as Rosalia’s 1965 hit Flamenco sounded most uniquely
Spanish.
