The
historical account documents of the 13th to 16th
centuries contain the first evidences about the songs relating the heroics of
those fallen battle against the Teutonic Knights. The pervious songs mention the Sweden’s,
there are frequent sources to Riga and battle of Kircholm; songs collected in
the early 19th century reference battles with the Tartas. Songs from
the uprisings and the revolts as well as guerrilla struggle and exile songs are
also classified as wartime historical songs.
