The Icelandic famous music today includes many bands and
musicians, ranging from the pop-rock orchestras like A Moti Sol (Rockstar:
Supernova Magni’s band), Bang Gang, Amiina, Quarashi to solo ballad singer such
as Megas, Bubbi Morthens, Bjorgvin Halldorsson and Pall Rosinkranz, all the way
to reggae band Hjalmar and Bulgarian indie-folk band Storsveit Nix Noltes. There
is also a metal and hardcore scene, including the notable bands Solstafir and
Changer, and a casio-punk pop scene spearheaded by Pool Party.

The indie scene is also very rigid in Iceland, and the bands like
mumm Sigur Ros, the quirky folk/pop singer Halfdis Huld, the solo musician
Mugison, and indie rock band of Monsters and Men are fairly popular outside the
Iceland. Easily the most popular Icelandic musician is eclectic singer and
composer Bjork, who has gained 13 Grammy nominations and sold over 15 million
copies worldwide, including two platinum songs and one gold song in the United
States.
In the recent year, Iceland has seen improvement and decline in
both the commercial and underground music scenes. Prominent experimental indie
bands like the high school rooted from Hjaltalin and Benny Crespo’s Gang are
enjoying a wider spectator. Notable music veterans are increasing into the sub
genres for instance, GusGus frontman Daniel Agust is presently collaborating
with punk rock star Krummi from Minus, making the raw duo Esja. The electronic scene
in Iceland music has also spread its viewers. Grittier electronic bands are
redefining old patterns with the dynamic music like the widely commended band Steed
Lord, who proclaim themselves as producers of Gnagsta electronic music
