criolla is a kind of Cuban music and song, the term is said to have come from
cancion croilla, or creole song. Its genre initiated in the late 19th
century, and it is similar to some other forms in that era, like as the
cancion, the guajira and the bolero. The criollas is usually comprised of a
short introduction that follows the two parts of sixteen bars each.
