polyphonic singing is possibly the most unusual of the French regional
varieties. Sung by male trios, it is strongly harmonic and occasionally
dissonant. Works can be either spiritual or secular. The recent orchestra Canta
u Populu Corsu, I Muvrini, Chjami Aghjalesi and Tavagna; some groups have been
associated with Corsica nationalism.
