This
is one of the traditional Carnaval rhythms, a join between the music of the
carnestolendas (which is 3 days of Carnaval before Ash Wednesday) of the
Spaniards and of the indigenous peoples. It migrated with the indigenous
carnivals which were celebrated separately from the Spanish carnival. The music
and dance are both one tone, but not dull, as they are happy and colourful and
nearly and attended the drums, cymbals and trumpet.
