Sonora or just, the traditional Chilean cumbia with long standing groups like
Orchestra Huambaly, La Sonora de Tommy Rey, Sonora Palacios, Los Vikings 5,
Giolito y su combo and Pachuco y la Cubanacan which being some of the most
famous acts in the past 50 years still with mainstream famous, being part of
the Chilean of the musical culture and identity.

are also some subgenres established in the 1980’s like the Andean cumbia, in
the 1990’s like cumbia sound and in the 2000’s like the Cumbia romantic (La
