The
music of Aruba, the former Netherlands Antilles is a mixture of different
native with Africa and European elements and it is closely connected with
fashion from the neighbouring countries which include Venezuela, Colombia and
Island like Puerto Rico, Cuba, Santo Domingo, Haiti, Martinique, Trinidad,
Dominica and Guadeloupe. The former Netherland Antilles of Curaco and Aruba
which are also known for their typical waltzes, Danzas, Mazurkas and have
different kind of music called Tumba, which is named after the Conga drums.

The
rest of the islands are much smaller than Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaco. They
include: Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten and Saba. The Sint Eustatius is the
smallest in term of nightlife, with only a nightclub (the Zouk Largo Height
Disco) in 1996. The population, Statians, hold rehearse street dances known as
the Road blocks, which they used booming car stereos. Saba also has a number of
dances at different restaurants, including a wide variety of hip hop, disco,
soca, kompa, zouk, bouyon, reggae and merengue. Sint Maarten has a rich
carnival culture featuring music and dance, which is held in mid –April and
ending in the traditional burning of king Moui-Moui, as well as a number of
nightclubs and casinos featuring music in a popular spots where the locals go
and dance which include the Boo Boo Jam and Lago Hight both is situated on the
Northern (French) part of Sint Maarten. The most recent casino band is the King
Bo-Bo and is known as the King of Calypso.
