Angolan music is formed from both the wider musical styles and the political
history of the country. The Angolan music has been termed a mix of Congolese,
Portuguese, and the Brazilian music, and also, the Angolan music inclined the
music of other Lusophone countries.
The
capital city of Angola Luanda is a home to different groups of music styles
that include Zouk, Angolan merengue, kilapanda, Semba a genre with the roots tangled
with the Brazilian samba music, Kizomba and Kuduro, it is just off the coast of
Luanda which is known as the IIha that do Cabo, home of accordion and harmonica
based style of music jnown as rebita.
During
the early 20th century, Angolan music was wracked by violence and
their political instability. Their musicians were burdened by their government
agents during the period of Portuguese colonization and after their
independence.
