the year 1878; he died in the year 1971. He was a revolutionary and a writer
from Albania. He was one of the major proponents of the Albanian National
Awakening in the province of Filiates, Paramythia and Igoumenista.

Life
Demi was born in
Filiates, which was a town of the Ottoman Empire in the year 1878. His father,
Mamit Demi was a local landowner of the province from the Demi family Filiates.
The grandfather was known as Cafa Demi. He finished from the local ottoman rusdiye
and then he continued his studies in the Loannina.
In the early part of
the 1900sd, he became one of the founders of the Vellezeria association of
Filiates and was made the commander of one of the most crucial çetë. Together with other rilindas, he opened
the first Albanian language school of Filiates on the 25th August
1908. He together with other locals funded the construction of the building of
the school.
At the time of the
World War II, he was said to have had contract with Albanian and Greek Communist
Party. Meanwhile, it is questioned that there was a socialist movement around
Demi at that time. His daughter Ballkeze Demi fought and died at the time of
the Albanian resistance of the World War II.
He was ornamented
with the patriot of National Awakening medal in the year 1945. In the year
1987, for the 100th anniversary of the formation of the League of
Prizren, he posthumously was ornamented with the civil medal for Patriotic
works.
