Club Career
Kacaj started playing football in his country with the club, Besëlidhja Lezhë. In the year 1991, he made a move to Greece. After a season in the Greek 3rd division with the club, Kallithea F.C., he made a move to Athinaikos F.C. in the Greek first division and he was there for 2 seasons. 
After spending three seasons in Cyprus with the club, AC Omonia, he went back to Greece to play for Levadiakos F.C in the second division football of the country. 
International Career
Kacaj played 18 games for the national team of the country from the yeatr 1992 to the year 2000.
