Gjergji Muzaka was born on the 26th September 1984 in Tirana. He is a footballer from Albania. He plays the role of a midfielder for his club, KS Skenderbeu Korce in the Albanian Superliga. He is a member of the Albanian national team. His main position in the pitch is the right hand side of the midfield, though he can operate from the middle or the left hand side of the midfield. He is an attacking minded player that can cross the ball from the flanksand and can assist for other strikers in the pitch. he is a goal striker and has scored the total of 51 goals ever since he started playing football in the year 2001.
Club Career
Muzaka started football career with the local team in his town, KF Partizani Tirana when he was 14. He played for the U-17 team of the clubwhere he gained the interest of some foreign football clubs with his performance in the pitch, on the right side of the pitch. one of the teams that came for him was PSG, French giant team, who in the year 2000 offered the player a contract to play at the club. Muzaka acceptyed the offer that was made by the club and left Partizani when he was 16, joining the youth team of PSG. Meanwhile, after a year in the club, he went back to his country and back to his football club before the starting of the 2001/02 season.
After his return to his former club, he was placed in the first team of the club.
The president of KF Tirana, Refik Halili paid the total sum of €70,000 to purchase Muzaka from Partizani in the summer of the year 2008.
Muzaka accepted a 3-year contract to play for 2009/10 champions of the superliga, Dinamo Tirana on the 16th June 2010. The transfer of the player was managed by Elton Marini, a FIFA licensed agent, of M&M Management Agency. The deal was worth €210,000, with the playing being paid the sum of €70,000 per season in the club.
In January 2011, Muzaka made a move to KF Skënderbeu Korçë on a loan contract for half a season.
International Career
Muzaka is a member of the Albanian national team. He scored his first goal for the country in the match that was played against Romania in a Euro 2012 qualification. He was brought into the match in the 81st minute; just a minute after Romania had scored a goal and taken the lead in the match. He made a quick impact in the match and scored in the 87th minute of the game and that leveled the game to 1-1 and secured a very good and well-deserved point for the country in the opening match of the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
