Religious Music of Pakistan

There are a huge number of hamd and naat singers in Pakistan. This is a type of Islamic religious music where a poetical verse of the Love for God (Allah) is expressed. Some of the very popular musicians include Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, along with his nephew known as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and there are also sabri brothers from Karachi.

Hamd is used at length in Christian religious music from Pakistan and throughout the world where people from this region are seen. Hamd is not the exclusive area of any religious. As it has pointed out, it denotes praise to God and it is more at length used in the Muslim word. It is normally used in conjunction with Sanna and it means as Hamd –o- Sanna.

The dafli is commonly called daf, dappler or tambourine, is a must for weddings. It is made of wooden ring with a double row of bells and a playing surface with a 10 diameter, the dafli is a perfect accompaniment to the dholki. The lovely sound of the dafli will raise the line and mood of all celebrations. It is easy to play with no earlier practice required with these daflis and anyone can add to the music played in the wedding and other occasions.
