PIVA: Italian musical instrument

The piva is a kind of bagpipe instrument that is played in the Northern Italy and the Italian speaking regions of Switzerland like Ticino. The musical instrument is with a single chanter and a single drone.
The musical instrument was traditionally played in an ensemble together with the piffero in Italy, until the musical instrument was substituted by the accordion in the 1950s.

The piva shows to have been discarded in Switzerland in the 19th century, but it was renovated in the year 1980 by Swiss-German folk musician called Urs Klauser.
