PICCO PIPE: Italian musical instrument

The picco pipe is the smallest version of ducted-flute tabor
pipe.
The musical instrument is 3 ½ inches long with the wind way
of the instrument taking up 1 ½ inches. The musical instrument has three holes:
two holes are located in the front of the instrument and a dorsal thumb hole.
The picco has almost the same mouthpiece as the recorder. The bore of the
musical instrument has a little flare and the lowest notes were performed with
the finger blocking this extreme.
The range of the instrument is from b to c3, using the
somewhat frequency shift between registers to sound a full chromatic scale,
just like the tabor.
The musical instrument was made popular at Covent Garden in
London in 1856, by a 25 years old blind player from Sardinia.
