was renowned in Kenya before the 20th century, before it entered
other African countries. Fundi Konde who was the early renowned guitarist,
apart from Paul Mwachupa and Luka Tututu in the middle 0f 1920s, dance club has
emerged in Mombasa playing music for the Christians to dance in a European
pattern.
During
the World War II, both Kenya and Ugandan artists were enrolled as entertainers
in the King’s African Rifles and keep going after the war as the Rhino Band,
which is the first extremely famous band all over Kenya. In 1948, the group
separated, with many of the members forming the Kiko Kids or other ensembles.
After
1950s, radio and recording technology had progressed over all Kenya. Fundi
Konde, who is the prominent guitarist, was an early broadcaster and powerful in
the new recording industry.
