Punk rock became popular in China around the year 1994 to 1996 with the first
Chinese artists of the post punk kind being He Yong and his band record Garbage
Dump. The first real wave of band formations exploded in 1995 concentrating in
Beijing and the second generation of the puck groups followed around the 1997.
Since then, the Chinese scene has been grown exponentially with the home grown
groups like as Brain Failure, Demerit, Tookoo, Av Okubo, Hang on the Box and
Fanzi Xiangfa all helping the international al tour.
