In the 80s, hardcore ensemble such as GISM, Gauze, Lip Cream, Confuse and Systematic Death started emerging, some incorporating crossover elements. The independent scene also includes a diverse number of alternative/post-punk/new wave musicians such as P-Model, Uchoten, Aburadako, Auto-Mod, Buck-tick, Guernica and Yapoos (both of which featured Jun Togawa). G-Schmitt, Jagatara and Totsuzen Danball, along with noise/industrial ensembles like Hijokaidan and Hanatarashi.
