The history of France music dated back to organum in the 10th century, accompanied by the Notre Dame School, and organum composition pattern, Trobadour rhythms of chivalry and courtly love were composed in the Occitan dialect between the 10th and the 13th centuries, and the Trouvere poet-composers flourished in the Northern France during this era. By the end of the 12th century, a form of rhythm known as the motet arose, followed by travelling musician called jongleurs, also in the 14th century, France produced two notable patterns of music that is known as Ars Subtillior and Ars Nova.
