The first major orchestra was Salka, accompanied by the major bands like Bigi Ting and Fondering. The recent performers like Bigi Libi, Young Clemencia (Grand Santi), Bigi Monie (Saint Laurent), Wan Ton Melody, Bigi Lai (Maripasoula), Big Control (Papaichton), and Slave. Historical orchestras include Pokina and Lagadisssa (from Paramaribo), Clemencia and Alkowa (from Grand Santi), Rasta (from Papaichton), Tranga Oousel (from maripasoula), Africa (from Saint- Laurent du Maroni), Sapatia, Lespeki, Mabouya (from Apatou), Rasta (from Papaichton) and Switi Lobi (from Albina).
