A dohol is a large Persian cylindrical drum
that has two skin heads, it's a large drum (one meter in diameter) on both side
of which, there are tightly stretched animal skin. It is generally closed
temporary on one side with a wooden stick looped at the end, and has a large
thin stick on the other side and is also played by the bare hands. It is
principally accompanies the Sorna and is used in both Afghanistan and Iran.
Dohol is largely performed in Kurdistan also along with a Zurna. Dohol is performed in Sistan va Baluchestan
of Iran during any Wedding and in most of their celebrations and it is always
accompanied by Surna. Dohol is performed in the Lorestan province of Iran in
wedding and other celebrations and is mostly accompanied along with Sorna
