José Ignacio García Hamilton was born on the 1st November
1943; he died on the 17th June 2009. He was an argentine writer,
historian, a lawyer and a politician. He was elected to be the Argentine
Chamber Deputies for the Radical Civic Union and he represented Tucumán region
of the country.

Biography
Garcia was born in San Miguel de Tucuman to the family of Lucía
Elena Aráoz and Enrique García Hamilton. He studied at the University of
Tucuman and finished in the year 1969 and got his Ph.D. in Legal and Social
Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, it was also there that he later
became a professor of history and law.
García Hamilton worked as a columnist and as the Secretary General of a
newspaper in Tucuman called La Gaceta that was owned by his family and the
editor in chief being his father. García
Hamilton was the founder of El
Pueblo, which was a local newspaper in the year 1972 and he was pronounced to
be the director of the Association of Provincial Newspaper. In the mid-1970s, v
was sent to the prison in the final ruling months of the Presidency of Isabel
Martínez de Perón. He was a column ist for many newspapers and magazines in his
country, Argentina, Uruguay, and in the United States.
In the year 1975, after
he has been released from the prison and sent on an exile to Buenos Aires, v
started his career as a lawyer and he was the founder of the García Hamilton and Asociades Law Firm.
He authored many books like Hispano-American authoritarianism and unproductiveness
(1990). He also authored many biographies like that of the following
personalities; Juan Bautista Alberdi, Life
of an absentee (1993); Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, Rowdy Cuyano (1997), and José de San
Martín, Don José (2000). He was
the winner of the Merit Diploma from the KonexFoundation for Life of an
Absentee. García Hamilton
presented several TV Programs on the history of the country.
In the year 2006, García Hamilton was sent to Cuba with no explanation
given to him. He was elected to be the national deputy for the region in
assistance of the presidential bid of Roberto Lavangna.
García Hamilton was married to Graciela Gass and they had six children
together. He died on the 18th June 2009 after battling with cancer
for ten years.
