José Hernández was born with the name José Rafael Hernández
y Pueyrredón on the 10th 1834; he died on the 21st
October 1886. He was an Argentine journalist, a poet and a politician. He is
best known for the epic poem he wrote called Martín Fierro.

José Hernández, whose background is rooted from Spain, Ireland and
France, was born on a farm beside San Martin, Buenos Aires region of the
country Argentina. His father was a butler of a series of cattle ranches in the
country.
José Hernández was the founder of the newspaper called El Río de la Plata, which advocated the local
autonomy and the elimination of the enrolled frontier contingent and also the
selection of justice of the peace, school board and the military commanders of
the country.
He opposed
