1805; he died on the 19th January 1851. He was an argentine poet,
fiction writer, cultural promoter and a political activist. He played a crucial
role in developing the literature of the country, not
just with his own writings, but also with his organizational efforts. He was
one of the most crucial romantic writers of the Latin America.

Life
José Esteban Antonio Echeverría spent five decisive year in Paris France
from the year 1826 to the year 1830, it was there that he got the spirit of
Romantic Movement. When he got back to his country, he became one of the
movement’s promoters. He wrote the work called Los Consuelos in the year 1834
and Pumas in the year 1837. Antonio Echeverría was a member of the young
intellectuals of the country that organized the Asociación de Mayo in the year 1840. Antonio Echeverría was forced to go into exile in nearby Uruguay in the
year 1840, and it was there that he wrote La Insurrección del Sur and El Matadero. Antonio
Echeverría stayed in Uruguay till he died in the year 1851.
