Lili Boniche was born in the year 1921; he died on the 6th
March 2008. He was a singer of the Andalusian Arab music from Algeria. Boniche
was the heir to an erudite, centuries-long tradition of the Algerian music and
a pillar of the Franco-Arab music.

He was born into the Jewish family in the Casbah region of the country;
he was a child prodigy that taught himself how to play his father’s mandola
when he was 7, later as an in-demand musician all through France in the 1940s
and at the time of the war. Boniche combined the tango, the mambo and the paso
doble into his repertoire, mainly while he was entertaining the troops. He is
popular for the having sung music with the Arabic lyrics a great number of
Cuban popular music as part of the normal repertoire. He retired in the 1950s,
and he launched a career in the year 1990 and dropped an album that he named
Boniche Dub in the year 1998, which was produced by Bill Laswell and Fashion
doyen Jean Touitou. It was the musical album that got his some new fans across
the continent and in Europe.
He was also a movie composer, apart from music composition. He died in
Paris on the 6th March 2008.
