musician and an actress from Algeria. She is known for the playing of Rai music

She was raised in a poor family. She took part in the Algerian movie
called Djalti when she was 14 and she started her music profession in Boutiba
S’ghir’s band and started to record her music with the producer Rachid Baba
Ahmed in the later part of the 1970s. She was the first woman in the country to
defy the ban on the singing club of women in the country and she quickly got to
the ladder of success in the country.
She met Cheb Sahraoui and they got married and became music partners,
they started recording their music together from the year 1983 with the music
called "N'sel
Fik (You Are Mine)", and the music became one of the first international
rai hit songs in the country. They travelled to many parts of the world and
recorded widely in the 1980s. While they were in New York City of the US in the
year 1993, they recorded the album called Walli with the producer of the music
Bill Laswell who is also a multi-instrumentalist. They moved from Algeria and
are now residing in France since the year 1994.
In the later part of
the 1990s, the professional and personal relationship between the two failed
and Fadela has been working as a solo musician since then.
