Lion City hardcore Music in Singapore

One of the hardcore punk scenes in Singapore is known as Lion City Hardcore (LCHC). The initiation of LCHC traced back to the late 80s and during in the early 90s. Innovated and initiated by indigenous hardcore orchestras known as Stompin Ground which quickly later produce their album known as We Set the Pace which exposed much of hardcore punk music in both in Singapore and South East Asia and quickly lay more indigenous and area hardcore ensembles. Much of the indigenous hardcore scene in Singapore were originated and influenced by the New York Hardcore (NYHC) scene. The LCHC scene is still flourishing with ensembles such as Overthrow, Mouthful of Air, Sidekicks and The Union of Equals Straight Forward. Ensembles from within the world have performed in Singapore, including youth team group Bold, Boston hardcore ensemble Bane, Death Before Dishonor and straight-edge orchestra Have Heart, Cruel Hand, terror, the Canadian Comeback Kid, American hardcore punk ensembles Sick of It All, and First Blood deriving from Los Angeles.
