The sallaneh is a newly fabricated plucked string musical instrument that is manufactured under the supervision of the indian musician called Hossein Alizadeh and carved by Saimak Afshari. The musical instrument is inspired by the ancient Persian lute instrument known as barbat. The barbat used to have three strings on it, but this musical instrument is carved to have six melody strings and six harmonic strings giving Alizadeh a new realm in lower tones.
