The roneatdek is a metallophone that has its origin from Cambodia. It is an ancient instrument that is manufactured of metal and it is used in the pinpeat group. It is believed that the instrument originated from the Royal Court before the Angkor period. This instrument is scarcely covered with decoration on either the bars of the instrument or the sound box of the instrument. The roneatdek is very similar to the ‘ranateklek’ that is played in Thailand.
