Manuel Arturo Claps was born in the year 1920; he died in the year 1999. He was an Uruguayan-Argentine writer.
Born in Argentina, but because of political reasons, his family left the country on exile. They resided in Montevideo, it was there that he afterwards joined Generation of 45 a Uruguayan intellectual and literary movement consisting of the following people; Carlos Maggi, Ángel Rama, Emir Rodríguez Monegal, Idea Vilariño, Carlos Real de Azúa, Carlos Martínez Moreno, Mario Arregui, Mauricio Muller, José Pedro Díaz, Amanda Berenguer, TolaInvernizzi, Mario Benedetti, Ida Vitale, Líber Falco, Juan Cunha, Juan Carlos Onetti, and many others.
