Nabile Farès fought against the French men at the end of the war of
independence in the year 1960. Later on he got his doctorate in France with the
dissertation on the role of the Ogre in the oral literature of the northern
part of Africa.
The first work he did is the novel called Yahia, pas de chance, (1970) that came from a
manuscript he carried in a Knapsack while on the run in many periods at the
time of the and after the war of independence of the country. The later works
were both poetry and novels. Among these is the trilogy of novels; La Découverte du nouveau monde, and
the greatest novel he wrote Un
Passager de l'occident, that came in part, from the friendship he had with the
American writer James Baldwin.
All the works Nabile Farès
did were based on the political engagement and mainly by a drive to expand the
definition of the country and the people of the country, and to resist the
factional politics of the country and the identity of politics.
