Mirko Gashi was born
in the year 1939; he died in the year 1995. He was a 20th century
writer from Albania. He was born in Kraljevo, the kingdom of Yugoslavia, and he
attended primary school in Presevo and he finished his secondary education in
Gnjilane.

He finished his
studies in journalism at the University of Belgrade and he worked afterward as
a reporter for the newspaper called Flaka
e vëllazërimi in Skopje and he also worked for Radio Pristina.
He was admire much in
the 1980 for the verse he wrote that was compiled in a collection; Gjarpëri i shtëpise, in Pristina in the year
1980, Arbor vitae, in Pristina in the year 1988 and then Plagë uji, in Pristina
in the year 1990. He translated many Albanian language literatures into the
Serbian language.
He turned to alcohol when he started suffering from depression and he
died in the year 1995.
