Bitri was born in
Lushnje, Albania and she grew up in Tirana. She started to study medicine, but
the passion she has for art made her to leave the course she was studying after
one year. She studied drama in the Fine Art Academy, Tirana and got her diploma
in Professional Acting in the year 2004. She was featured in many short films
and theatre plays while she was still a student. She started her international career with the
film called Father and Godfather that was acted in the year 2007, directed by
Dhimiter Anagnosti, the film Alive of the year 2009 and the movie, Amnesty that
was acted in the year 2011, directed by Bujar Alimani. With the last two movies
she was included in the List of Albanian submission fir the Academy Award for
Best Foreign Language move in the year 2009 and the year 2011.
Career
She became popular in
the international movie scene for the display she gave as Elsa in the movie
Amnesty, where she played the title role to great acclaim and got international
attention of the media.the movie was awarded C.I.C.A.E. prize in the Berlinale
international forum of the year 2011. In that same year, Bitri was called up
for her part, in the Best Actress section, at the Sarejevo Film festival and at
the Copenhagen international Movie festival, Lecce European film festival, the
Jerusalem film festival and Prifilm fest Prishtina international film festival
in Kosovo. Amnesty is the 3rd movie she is acting, and it was the
movie that got her international fame and acclamation together and submitted
global attention to her feet.
