utilizes instruments like the dhol, dholak, tumbi and flute. The very popularly
recognized form of Punjabi music is known as bhangra, it is based on drum
rhythms of the dhol. Its current popularity has led to the use of the modern
instruments and electronic sound sampling. Bhangra traditional dance has become
popular throughout Pakistan. The bhangra and Punjabi traditional songs have
been an essential part of the fertile regions cultural history and many themes
are connected to harvest and cultivation. Others still get on the poetic
history of the region which surpasses ethnic and religious limitations. The
late Alam Lohar is known for his support in Punjabi music since the creation of
Pakistan until his death in 1979 and promoting the music word Jugni and the
Punjabi instrument Chimta.
