The
wave of Haitian in the 1970s make most of the artists go to Dominica and the
French Antilles (Guadeloupe and Martinique), which brought with them the kadnas
and this made a complex form of music that quickly swept the island and helped
in uniting all the former French colonies of the Caribbean by blending their
cultural effects.
Later
in the year, during the 80s, the French Antilles became home to the style of
cadence music known as cadence-lypso. Gordon Henderson’s Exile one invented
this pattern as well as changing the mini jazz combos into the guitar-dominated
big bands with a full-horn parts and keyboard synthesizers making the way for
the success of the large groups such as
Grammacks, Experience 7 and among others.
Drawing
on these effects, the super groups Kassava initiated zouk and fame it with the
hit songs like Zouk-La-Se Sel Medikaman Nou Ni which he formed from Paris in
the year 1978.
