Music
of Liberia has taken a new looks with the original Hipco musicians changing the
pattern of music; Hipco (co for short) is especially Liberian. In short the
music in local speech, the style of communication with which Liberians speaks
and the way they relate to each other. Hipco gradually developed in the 1980s
and has always been politically and socially set. During the 90s, it continued
to develop through the civil war and now stands as a definitive mark of
Liberian tradition.
